Mission
Training called and gifted men to start and support Gospel-centered churches. We seek to train and mentor men whom God has called to the great task of church planting.
Defining Characteristics
Church-Based
We believe it is the responsibility of local churches to identify and train men and then to be sent out from the church. All of our men will be mentored and trained in local churches until they are ready to be sent out to the mission to which God has called them.
Reformed
Although the term reformed can reference several distinctions, we are primarily concerned here with the reformed doctrines of salvation. We hold to the Reformation doctrine of justification by faith alone, Christ alone, grace alone. Coupled with that, we hold to the absolute sovereignty of God in all things, which includes His election according to His sovereign pleasure.
Gospel-Centered
We believe man’s deepest need is to believe and have the Gospel realized deep into their souls. When we say Gospel-centered we are not just talking about the necessity of faith and repentance for salvation, which is absolutely true. But we are saying that the Gospel is not just the ABC’s of Christianity but the A-Z of Christianity; it is the primary truth that Christians need to understand more of; and it alone changes the affections of people’s hearts so that they can experience genuine conversion and authentic holiness.
- Although Christians already believe the Gospel, they do not know it fully. The need for God’s children is to have the Gospel be realized more and more in their daily lives. At the deepest level the reason anyone disobeys is because they do not really believe the Gospel. Therefore, we need to believe more in who God is for us in Jesus and believe more in the Gospel in order to experience genuine conversion and growing maturity.
- We do not want people changing their external behavior because of fear and pride—Pharisee-like—but we desire to show the Gospel affects their hearts, which produces genuine holiness.
Elder Led
We believe that the local church is to be led by a plurality of elders who direct the affairs of the church. These pastors/elders are to lead, feed, protect, and care for the flock that God has given to them. The Scriptures overwhelmingly present teams not individuals leading and planting churches.
Complementarian
We believe that, although man and woman are created equal in value, dignity, and worth, God has designed the role of the man to lead both the church and the home. Thus, we are calling and training men to pastor churches.
